Well the metal under my old computer chair finally split. Its been threatening to do so for a long time. I was even going to buy a new chair about 7 months ago.

I couldn't decided on what chair I wanted to I just held off until now.

I can't think of how long I've had this now it's been quite a few years the padding on the front of the chair is all worn out and yet I still sat in it.

I took these pics with my Xoom's camera

I'm on chair number two since 2004, the first one felt like jesus throwing holy water on my ass every time I sat down, and the replacement chair I got a few years back is only a slight downgrade, so I still feel like a god even when sitting in mah chair.

Nothing like a good chair and a cold beer to make a gamer happy! :P

It has been a few years since I have bought a new machine, and my 470GTX and i7 980 are starting to show their age. Since Crysis 3 and Bioshock Infinite are due soon, I decided now was a good time. I looked at NewEgg today with my company's Systems Admin -- hey, he sits right across from me -- and this is what we came up with:

Case: Antec Three Hundred Illusion Black Steel Atx Mid Tower
P/S: Cooler Master Silent Pro RS850
M/B: EVGA X79 (SE-E777-K2 LGA 2011)
CPU: Intel Core i7-3820 Sandy Bridge-E 3.6Ghz (3.8Ghz Turbo Boost) LGA 2011
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 SE2011
RAM: G.Skill RipJaws Z Series 16GB (2 X 8GB) DDR3 2133
V/C: EVGA GeForce GTX 660 TI (3GB 192-Bit GDDR5)
SSD: Intel 520 Series Cherryville 240GB
BluRay: LG Black 14X BD-R

And yes, I will still die to GW2 WvW culling.

Go for the Antec 900, the 300 is too small.

Looks a lot like what I just built. Exact same gpu and ram too.

I went with a different case, but my last computer is running in a 900. I completely agree with Sam, it's a very nice case and the extra room is worth it.

Thanks for the suggestions on the case. I took another look at the build, then did some research at Tom's Hardware, and some other sites, to see if there was more performance to gain -- (of course there was). Here it is in all its electronic glory:

Case: Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower
P/S: Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold Series 1000W
M/B: ASRock X79 Extreme9
CPU: Intel Core i7-3930K
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14
RAM: G.Skill RipJaws Trident X Series 16GB (2 X 8GB) DDR3 2400
V/C: GigaByte GeForce GTX 670 2GB
SSD: Samsung 840 250GB
BluRay: LG Black 14X BD-R

I love the smell of new electronics, and the sweet click as it all whirls into life on its first boot. Now to get it built.

So now that I have a new beast, I look at my monitor and realize its limiting the vast potential of pixel magnificence. I looked into some monitors, and LED styles from TN to IPS to PLS, and came up with two models I think have the perfect performance and color saturation:

ASUS PA248Q

ASUS PB278Q

The real difference between the two is that the 27" is at 2560 x 1440 versus 1920 x 1200 for the 24". I want the higher resolution, but many games do not support it yet, including GW2. My question is, how bad is the blur when running a monitor in a non-native resolution?

I read somewhere about V-Mode, and that it would allow a lower resolution on the larger monitor with minimal degradation. If this is so, I want the 27", and it's a theft at $600.

Here is the PB278Q being unboxed:

And yes, now that it is announced, I want the world's fastest video card:
